Lila: A group of us went to the Russia-Australia basketball game. Between quarters, the entertainment featured all of the Beijing Olympic mascots dancing around on the floor.

At one point, I guess their costumes started slipping on the floor because at least two of the mascots wiped out. The other mascots promptly decided the best plan of action was to kick the downed mascots.

Maggie, Mayer and Kari: Attendance was not high at the men’s field hockey match between the UK and the Netherlands last week, but the spirit sure was. Watch these dedicated fans in the stands showing their unbridled support:
